Noted for combining superior monitoring coverage, geolocation accuracy and better value, TCI’s hybrid systems are capable of both Angle of Arrival (AOA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) geolocation techniques. Consisting of one or more AOA DF systems integrated with multiple TDOA geolocation systems linked through a LAN, hybrid technology requires fewer stations than separate AOA or TDOA systems. It provides the best area coverage with the fewest stations, reducing budget requirements.

In addition, the ability to select AOA, TDOA or both for a given situation allows an operator to employ the optimum capabilities for a given signal environment. This enhances system effectiveness since TDOA is particularly effective for broadband signals, and AOA can be preferable for narrowband, continuous-wave and unmodulated signals.
