26 MHz Local Coverage Systems
HF digital broadcasting in the 26 MHz broadcasting band using DRM® signals has been demonstrated in London, Mexico City, and Brasilia to provide FM-like radio reception. These demonstrations proved that FM-quality broadcast coverage of a metropolitan area can be achieved using inexpensive broadcasting equipment in a frequency band that is already an under-utilized broadcasting band.

 Azimuth Pattern |
- 26 MHz direct wave provides line-of-site coverage similar to FM
- Transmitter 0.1 to 2 kW
- Radius 50 to 75 km
- Antenna must suppress sky-wave coverage to avoid interfering with distant stations
- DRM can "multicast" up to four programs in a single channel
